Acne is a disease caused by the inflammation of skin due to excessive oil, dust and dead cells. This inflammation leads to formation of blackheads, whiteheads, pimples, zits and spots. Acne is normally found on your face, neck, upper back, shoulder, arms and buttock. These are the parts of your body that produce excessive oil and thus more acne. The excessive oil is produced by the sebaceous gland. A hormone called androgen stimulates sebaceous gland. When simulated by androgen these glands produce excessive amounts of oil.

8) Medication ? Some medicines and drugs like lithium and bromides have shown signs of stimulating acne formation. Medicines having these elements should be avoided to prevent acne.
9) Clothes ? Clothes that do not allow proper airflow to the skin can cause acne. Similarly tight clothes and protective gear like hats, helmet etc can cause acne due to friction with the skin.
10) Birth Control Pills - Beginning to take or stopping birth control pills may cause acne.
